Plan Egg-cellent Easter Entertainments
The Easter holidays may not boast the special thrill of Christmas or the beautiful weather of the summer, but they can be a wonderful time nonetheless. Make sure you don’t get egg on your face this Easter, plan a range of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy and you’ll find that Easter can be just as much fun as some of the bigger holidays. One of the best ways to make it a holiday to remember is to try and involve everyone in the preparation, and everyone in the fun.
If you’re planning a good spring clean, then Easter can be the perfect time to get started. Get the children to help by making it as fun as possible, play music, sing songs and run a competition to see who manages to clean fastest. Once your house is lovely and clean, why not set the kids to work making some nice decorations for it? Traditional Easter-inspired drawings such as daffodils, rabbits and colourful eggs are sure to brighten the house – and your spirits.
Another great way to get creative at Easter is to dye and paint hard boiled eggs. A few drops of food colouring in the saucepan can go a long way in creating eggshells that are vibrant and beautiful, but sitting the kids down with a set of paints and asking them to decorate their eggs any way they see best is great fun too. Then on Easter itself, you can display the eggs proudly – until it’s time to roll them down the hill! Be prepared though, some children may not be happy about the idea of seeing their hard work smashed so pack a few of the plain, food-dyed eggs too just in case.
Easter wouldn’t be the same without an egg hunt. Plan one around your house and garden and set the kids on the prowl. If you have time, you could create a treasure hunt with a map and clues leading to one big stash to create a memorable experience that’s sure to keep the family entertained for hours. Kids will also be happy with hunting for lots of small eggs hidden here, there and everywhere.
If there’s one Easter treat you can rest assured young and old alike are going to enjoy, it’s exchanging Easter chocolate gifts. From big, brightly coloured eggs to chocolate chicks or bunnies, there are plenty of sweet treats to choose from – and you can be sure of a little peace and quite as they are enjoyed.
