Home to some of the world’s largest theme parks, Orlando is an ideal vacation spot for those with young ones, or those who still feel a little young at heart themselves.
Of all the numerous theme parks in Florida, Walt Disney World is one of the – if not the – most famous. Spread across an area the size of Boston, Walt Disney World contains four theme parks, two water parks and 22 themed resorts. Theme Parks at Walt Disney World include Magic Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Animal Kingdom, all of which are guaranteed to entertain and thrill any visitor.
Aside from these theme parks, there are also a number of other Disney-themed parks throughout Orlando including Disney World: The Extras and Disney World: Waterparks.
Disney World: Waterparks is a wild, entertaining theme park which is ideal for spending a day at. A word to the wise, however, this is one of the most popular theme parks in Florida, so be sure to get there early. Not only does this ensure an opportunity to enjoy some of the more popular rides before the crowds arrive, but more importantly, an opportunity to stake out a shaded spot in order to escape the midday Florida sun. Once you’ve found a spot however, all that’s left to do is enjoy some of the park’s most popular rides including ‘Ski Jump’ or ‘Mount Gushmore’.
If you find waterparks fun, but just that little bit to tame for you, then check out Universal’s Thrill Rides. Rides such as ‘The Hulk’ and ‘Dueling Dragon’ are well known among the thrill seeking community and ensure a scream or two from even the most confident visitor.
Other popular rides include the Spiderman ride, which not quite a rollercoaster ride, is a 3D simulator that often moves into 4D simulations. This ride along with Revenge of the Mummy, Shrek, Men in Black and The Simpsons are among the most popular and are sure to go down a treat with family members.
In Downtown Disney (it’s that big), a popular venue to visit is La Nouba. La Nouba is home to some of the best jugglers, acrobats and trapeze artists in the world and together they put on ‘The La Nouba Show’, a spectacle of circus entertainment.
Theme Parks like Disney and Universal Studios are so large that many have their own accommodation onsite, although if you fancy a little break from the magic – even just for a few hours – there are a plethora of Orlando hotels to choose from. Whatever you decide, Orlando with its giant theme parks is no stranger to tourists, and you will no doubt be able to find something specific to your needs.
