Visit London on a Budget
The largest city in the UK, London has a lot going for it. Packed full of cultural highlights, historical sights of interest and boasting an impressive annual events calendar, it’s a definite must-see. However, as with many of the major global cities, it can be an expensive place to visit. That’s why before you book your trip it’s worth checking out what you can do to save some cash.
Luckily, all it takes is a quick internet search to discover the wealth of cheap or free things you can do in and around London. In fact, from music, art and theatre performances to workshops and club nights, there are more activities offered for gratis, or for under a tenner, than you can wave your wallet at.
There’s even a huge range of sumptuous eateries, quaint cafés and value-for money restaurants to try out, where the price of your meal won’t rival the cost of your airline ticket. Beatroot, a vegetarian café, and the Chinese Rasa Savang, for example, are both popular haunts and offer up meal deals for less than £10.
Buying a Travelcard is another great way to save cash, as well as being a nifty trick for avoiding having to queue up at the underground for tickets. There are different ticket options available, depending on how long you’re staying and which type of transport you want to take.
Accommodation is usually seen as one of the biggest expenses when travelling and London is no exception, especially when it comes to staying near the centre of town. However, scratch the surface of lodging options available in the capital and you’ll be surprised with what you can find.
For instance, there’s a great selection of central London hostels to choose from, which not only offer up affordable accommodation, but which are also located right in the heart of the city. What’s more, many of them are in tip top condition, meaning you don’t have to stay in a hovel to save cash.
One of the biggest advantages to hostels, besides their room rates, is the fact they can easily cater to groups of people. Additionally, they are a great way to meet individuals from all around the globe. Many of the hostels also offer up a range of facilities, such as 24 hour internet access, single *** or private rooms and free bed linen. Some will even arrange tickets for tourist attractions or day trips.
The English capital can be an expensive city to stay in, but with a bit of foresight you can ensure you don’t empty your wallet within a day. From free shows and low-cost eateries to cheap hostels in London, there’s a wealth of economical options to choose from.

Hi. On your page, I noticed that you list some London travel websites, but you didn’t include Hostelz.com. Started in 2002, Hostelz.com is the most complete database of hostel information available anywhere online. The site lists all hostels for free and includes direct contact info for hostels and exclusive photos and reviews.
This is our “London Hostels” guide:
http://www.hostelz.com/hostels/England/Greater-London/London
If you could, please take a look at the site, and if you think it would be useful for your visitors it would be great if you could include it on your website. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely, Jay
